The Home Bistro

The bistro look is at once casual and elegant. It originates in the cafes of Paris, but easily translates to your home, wherever it might be. It is a great way to create a small getaway right in your little corner of the world.

At the center of the bistro experience is the bistro dining set. These sets come in many varieties and designs.

• Perhaps the most traditional designs start with wrought iron. The twisting iron legs and chair backs are a classic cafe look.
• The table tops can be made from a number of different materials. Glass tops are popular and lend a modern sleekness to the set.
• Wood tops can be finished and polished for a refined look, or left rough for a more rustic feel.
• A look that is becoming ever more popular is the mosaic top. A mosaic surface is inlayed with stained glass tiles or tile chips set in a design that follows the shape of the table (usually round). It adds a wonderful splash of color and is sure to become a popular conversation piece.
